Melville was a talented writer, and these short stories are no exception. If you liked his longer works, these are highly recommended.Product details

great rendition...recommend it especially ifoure studying it in school
nice short ened version of wohat you need to know get it
Got this just to read "Benito Cereno." Good, solid Melville. Writing a bit dated but he weaves a compelling tale.
It is not a fluffy, pop-fiction story. I have renewed respect for Herman Melville as a great writer. His way with words is delightful!
We read Benito Cereno for our bookclub, and I've read Billy Budd and Bartleby the Scrivener before, way back in college. All of the stories are brilliant--and tragic.
Thank you.
If you had to pick a short list of the greatest American writers, Meliville would be on it. His ability to capture our attention with tales
both intriguing and of substance has rarely been equaled - perhaps only William Faulkner could challenge Melville's talent and intelligence.
Curious collection, most of these are not well-known, at all, save for Bartleby the Scrivener. Thoroughly enjoyed them; Mr. Melville had an interesting life, with a fair amount of adventure mixed in and that has always come thru in his writings.
Melville was a talented writer, and these short stories are no exception. If you liked his longer works, these are highly recommended.
